Bio-Fuel Project Example
At TPI Engineered Systems, we know that dealing with Biofuels is not always easy. You need equipment
that is designed specifically for this purpose. We recently had a client come to us with a full
Bio-Fuel processing facility. With our “Engineered for the Project” approach, we were able to come up
with a range of layouts and options to fit this client's project into the space they had available.
At this location, a brown-field project at an old Cement plant, we designed and installed a bucket
elevator to lift the sized-and-dried material to a flat bottom drag conveyor to distribute product to
the old storage silos. Each of the three “S-Path”, flat bottom drag conveyors receive material from a
storage silo and deliver it to multiple surge bins above the pellet mills. The surge bins each have a
screw feeder with tapered cone technology to provide a uniform draw-down of product and a smooth,
consistent feed to the pellet mills. Other options were possible, but this was the best fit within the
confines of this site.
Handling Bio-Fuels can be tough, but TPI has the required experience to design and fabricate the
needed conveyors throughout the entire process, including transfer towers, supports & structural steel.
